Morning Coffee has become extra special with this new Whipped Dalgona Coffee that you can make at the comfort of your home. You may enjoy it either hot or cold to satisfy that morning coffee crave.

What is Dalgona Coffee?

Dalgona coffee is basically whipped coffee and is most common in South Korea. Different countries have different names for it. In Greece they refer to it as Frappe Coffee, in India it’s Beaten Coffee while in South America its Batido meaning beaten. It has been around for a while but recently caught up on the Tiktok craze amongst the Mini Pancake Cereal trend.

Essentially you want to start with equal parts of instant coffee, sugar and hot water then you adjust depending on your taste buds, for example if you prefer less sugar, more coffee or a perfect combo. There are different ways of whipping the coffee, some take longer than others but the results are pretty much the same.

  1. Manual whisk- You may use a folk, whisk or spoon. whip in a zig zag motion and it will take about 10-15 minutes
  2. Hand Mixer- An electric mixer takes the hustle away by reducing the time to 3-5 minutes, whip also in a zigzag motion

Once you mix the 3 ingredients together you will get a really concentrated dark coffee mixture but whipping will turn this mixture from a dark consistency to a lighter mixture with a creamy frothy consistency. Once you’re done whipping you’re ready to assemble.

How to Assemble Whipped Dalgona Coffee

You may enjoy this whipped coffee either hot, cold or iced. You may use your favorite milk, I used a non dairy milk as I don’t consume dairy milk for health reasons but feel free to use any type of milk. I also threw in a handful of ice cubes for that iced coffee.

What Type of Coffee & Sugar to Use

Any instant coffee will do just fine. Nescafe is my favorite and is also easily available. DO NOT use fresh ground coffee beans AT ALL!

Granulated sugar works best as it creates that airy, fluffy foamy consistency. Some people have used honey or agave and it works just fine but I have not tried it. You may also decide not to use sugar at all and the coffee will whip just fine, problem is, the consistency will not hold for a long time.
